About the event

Introduction to Slow Stitching: Part One – Remember

Take a little time away from the rush of everyday life and discover the calming, meaningful art of slow stitching.

For this introductory workshop, we’ll create a beautiful poppy textile picture for remembrance using layered fabric, simple hand stitches and carefully chosen details.

Slow stitching is about far more than sewing. It gives us an opportunity to repurpose old and forgotten textiles, preserve small pieces of sentiment and give treasured fabrics a new story.

You may wish to incorporate a little piece of fabric that means something to you. It could be part of an old shirt belonging to someone special, a piece of a child’s outgrown clothing, a fragment of lace from your family sewing box, an old handkerchief or simply a fabric that brings back a particular memory.

Please bring only a small piece that you are happy to cut…
